We’re so excited to bring you a closer look at the latest addition to Mondo Games and Restoration Games’ miniatures dueling game series – Unmatched: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
A highly asymmetrical miniatures fighting game for two or four players, each hero in Unmatched is represented by a unique deck designed to evoke their style and legend. Tactical movement and no-luck combat resolution create a unique play experience that rewards expertise, but just when you've mastered one set, new heroes arrive to provide all-new match-ups.
Featuring art by Heather Vaughan, Unmatched: Buffy the Vampire Slayer features a double-sided board with your choice of battlefields – Sunnydale High or The Bronze, where four iconic combatants will join the fight with their accompanying sidekicks: Buffy & Giles or Xander, Angel & Faith, Spike & Drusilla, and Willow & Tara.
This edition of Unmatched brings new unique abilities rooted in the Buffyverse mythos:

Players who select Buffy have Sidekick Choice, meaning they have the option of choosing either Giles or Xander to be her sidekick at the beginning of the game.

If Willow or her sidekick Tara takes damage, Willow transforms into Dark Willow until she is adjacent to Tara next. While Dark Willow is active, she must resolve special effects on her cards as she plays them.

Some card effects on Spike and Willow's decks instruct players to Blind Boost – revealing the top card of your deck and adding the boost value to the Attack or Defense.

Spike may place shadow tokens in spaces adjacent to him or his sidekick Drusilla. The Shadows trigger effects on several of his cards.
