We have long been obsessed with the work of cartoonist Ed Piskor. From HIP HOP FAMILY TREE to his current masterpiece in progress, X-MEN: GRAND DESIGN, Ed is in a complete league of his own. If you're unfamiliar with Ed's latest endeavor, for the last few years he has been masterfully condensing the X-MEN 50+ year history into a tight six issues. From pencils and inks to letters and layout, Ed's responsible for it all and it is quite simply one of the most beautifully designed and executed comic runs...ever. The grand finale kicks off today with X-TINCTION 1 (of 2), and we highly recommend getting to your local comic shop and scooping up the book, as well as the trades (in gorgeous oversized Marvel Treasury Edition) for GRAND DESIGN and SECOND GENESIS, which collect the first four issues of the project. We're very excited to have partnered with Ed to release his stunning artwork in a beautiful five-color screenprint.
In addition to this poster, we're making a day of it and celebrating Marvel's merry mutants with brand new pins by Tom Whalen including Mystique, Cable, Wolverine (in his X-Force costume), and Apocalypse. We'll also have a new vinyl slipmat available to show your mutant pride featuring the crest of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters on one side, and the iconic X-Men logo on the reverse side.
