“There is 2001 and then there's the rest of cinema. It's a journey filled with amazing ideas that span the dawn of man through the beginning of something entirely new, via 'the ultimate trip'! The point of the film is that trip, the experience, the immersion in those ideas themselves.
This is where I wanted to place the viewer for the piece of work that I've made, including elements of technology, the relationship between the known and the unknown, and what lies beyond reason. There's a great sense of awe when watching the film; it indeed stirred my emotions and penetrated my subconscious. And of course, how could I not have incorporated that scene, that moment of pure psychedelia: The Ultimate Trip!” - Murugiah
