We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting a special one-weekend gallery show featuring the horror-themed original drawings of Francesco Francavilla! The opening reception will be on Friday, October 26 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM. The show will run through Sunday, October 28.
"Horror is a huge passion of mine. For that reason, every year I like to get in the Halloween mood by drawing tributes to some of my favorite horror movies or subjects, some more famous and some less known," said artist Francesco Francavilla. "When Mondo invited me to put together another gallery show it was a no brainer. I've always wanted to do a horror-themed show and the idea to have all these originals celebrating the dark and macabre framed on the Mondo gallery walls and just in time for Halloween was just too good to pass up. Regarding the name for the show, I titled it SCHERMOSCURO, an Italian word I made up from SCHERMO and SCURO which means literally DARK SCREEN — as in horror movies — since most of my work in the show, for the original art, is in black and white."
Mondo Creative Director Mitch Putnam said, "Francesco has been working on a large collection of horror-themed drawings for quite a while now, and we're honored that he's chosen the Mondo gallery to share them with the world. If you're into horror films and the iconography associated with them, this show is for you."
This show is FREE and open to the public.
