We end up traveling a lot for work. When we do, we inevitably end up on the hunt for local, independent comic book stores. Of the dozens I've visited over the past few years I can wholeheartedly say Secret Headquarters is my favorite. Back issue comics and role playing card games aren't my thing (not that there's anything wrong with either of those things, of course), so I love being in a store that earnestly focuses on independent art and comics. They take great care in curating an eclectic mix of comics, graphic novels and zines, supporting up and coming artists all in one beautifully displayed shop on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Considering how cool the store is, the staff is terrific and unpretentious and has always steered me in the right direction. So happy they agreed to make the trek across country to be part of MondoCon this year!
