Guests are arriving and set up has begun. Let’s hit you with some last-minute details to help you better plan your MondoCon experience!
Wristband pick up! This Friday September 13th from 10a-6p we will have a station set up on location at The Palmer Events Center by the West Entrance (facing Butler Park) where attendees can begin picking up their wristbands. In addition to that, we will have volunteers at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar before the screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World who will be able to accommodate wristband pick up as well.
On site wristband pick up will resume Saturday morning at 8am, where we will have a table set up to check in at the Main Entrance, as well as volunteers walking the line to make sure everyone has been taken care of. Sunday morning wristband pick up will begin again at 8am at the Main Entrance.
It is good to note that children under 12 are FREE and do not require a wristband, however, you must have a wristband to purchase anything at the Mondo booth.
As a reminder, parking will be available for both days at the The Palmer. There is a garage on site that attendees will be able to use for only $8 per day. While there is plenty of space, we recommend arriving as early as possible to make sure you are able to secure a spot. You can get more info on that HERE.
Doors for MondoCon will open at 10am on Saturday, and there will be 1 line for for the Main Hall and 1 line for the Mondo booth. We’ve added this year’s floorplan so you can start planning what booths you want to check out first.
For the Mondo booth, we will be operating similar to our line this past year at SDCC, when doors open, we will fill the line to capacity and once capped we will hand out timed vouchers to return. Vouchers are good for one hour from the time they are marked. For example, if you have a 3pm voucher, you have until 3:59pm to get in line. We want to make sure everyone gets the full convention experience, and this system should free up a lot of time for everyone. If you’re curious as to what we will have at the Mondo booth, keep your eyes on our live blog HERE which will be updated every day through September 13th.
In addition to all the great artists and vendors we will also have a few empty tables set up around the venue so you can better organize and roll your new prints. We will also have tubes available at the Mondo Booth for $5, in case you buy a little more than you planned on…
Along with all the amazing roster of artists and vendors, we also have a stacked line up of panels, which you can learn more about HERE. And just to reiterate, tickets for the day's panels will be issued at the panel hall entrance when doors open on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets will be one per person and will guarantee entrance into its respective panel up until the panel starts. Once the panel begins, we will be filling seats from a stand-by line which will start forming 30 minutes prior to each panel.
All this walking around at the con is sure to make you hungry and thirsty, so we’ve got Southside Flying Pizza, Peached Tortilla and Lucky Lab Coffee on site with incredible menus to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. We’ll also have our infamous Con Beer, brewed by our friends at Austin Beerworks, for sale in the lounge. Information on the food truck menus, Con Beer and food options in the surrounding area can all be found HERE.
While all of our screenings have sold out, our friends at Burning Witches Records are throwing a party on Saturday night at The Mohawk in Austin, and they’ve been rad enough to invite MondoCon attendees! Just show your wristband at the door for free entry!
We’ll check back in on Wednesday afternoon with one last round of updates for everyone! If you have any questions in the meantime, hit us up at [email protected]!
