Hello everyone! This week we get back into business with one of our favorite film studios, Hammer films, with a release of the soundtrack to Dracula A.D. 1972. We also have a US exclusive distributed title that you don't want to miss!
We are back on our normal release schedule this week, so these will hit the site on Wednesday at 12PM CST.
Dracula A.D. 1972 - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music by Mike Vickers.
Pressed on 180 Gram Psychedelic Splatter Vinyl (limited to 1,000 units worldwide).
$25
Death Waltz finally gets back on track with its classic Hammer score series with Dracula A.D. 1972. Mike Vickers' score was a real departure for Hammer leaving behind the dark orchestra scores that put the studio on the map and opting for a superb mix of almost-70s cop flavors favored by the likes of Schifrin; he also mixes in some good psychedelic tuneage for good measure. Vickers puts his background as Manfred Man’s guitarist to good use creating some great rhythmic jazz infused songs full of gothic textures. This is one of my favorite Hammer scores - it's an easy listen and super fun.
Pressed on psychedelic swirl 180 gram vinyl and housed inside a 42gsm gatefold jacket with full packaged design by Silver Ferox.
Buio Mondo - Italia Violenta.
Released by Hecatombe Records.
$25
Inspired in 70s Italian horror soundtrack, Buio Mondo is a project between members of MUERTE POR MIL CORTES and DESTINO/ENTIERRO.
We are really pleased to bring you this score to an imaginary horror film exclusively for the US. It's pure 80s-inspired madness, absolutely thumping synth work, and reminds us heavily of such classics as Pieces& Absurd. They only pressed 500 and we literally have a handful - don’t sleep on this!
