Hey folks, we have one new release from Death Waltz Originals and two new distributed titles for you this week. As always, new releases go live at 12PM CST on Wednesdays via mondotees.com.
DEATH WALTZ
Pentagram Home Video - Who's Out There. Strictly limited edition of 400 copies pressed on Transparent Purple with Black Marble effect with Grey color in color 180g vinyl. Housed inside a 425gsm single pocket jacket. Art by We Buy Your Kids. On sale Wednesday (4/13) at 12PM CST. $20
Operating within the same realm as Pye Corner Audio, Pentagram Home Video's debut LP for Death Waltz Originals offers up a dystopian analog synth attack swathed in layers of distortion and heavy pounding drums. It works as an imaginary soundtrack in your headphones but also as a powerful beast on more adventurous dance floors. We have been pretty obsessed with PHV since we heard them and are thrilled to be able to bring you their first vinyl release. The cover is by We Buy Your Kids who created the perfect minimalist design for this stark electronic music.
We're sure you're going to dig this release. Listen below:
DISTRIBUTED TITLES
Esterno Notte - Various. Released by Four Flies Records. Limited to 500 copies worldwide. On sale Wednesday (4/13) at 12PM CST. $35
A trip into unchartered Italian RCA film music vaults, including lots of unreleased gems from great Italian soundtrack maestros such as Alessandro Alessandroni, Giuliano Sorgini, Piero Umiliani, Alberto Baldan Bembo, Giovanni Tommaso, and many more.
As an uninterrupted flow of lost soundtracks from the most subversive and psychedelic age of Italian cinema, Esterno Notte evokes, above all, the night time cityscape settings of Italian movies of the 70s (thriller, horror, erotic, comedy, noir, and action). It captures that spirit and its musical core with a captivating concentration of funk, jazz-funk, deep breaks, prog and psych – all capable of seducing even today’s dance floors.
