New York! We partnered with our friends, Aaron James Draplin of the Draplin Design Company and Utopia, to make a poster for their new documentary, FREAKSCENE - THE STORY OF DINOSAUR JR.
This Saturday, May 28, we’ll be in Brooklyn at The Murmrr for a screening of the film, as well as Q&A and solo performance by the legendary J Mascis. Come hang out with us and celebrate one of the fuzziest, noisiest, grungiest, bestiest rock bands to ever play music. Dinosaur Jr. is one of the most influential and formative bands of the '90s. Their wall of sound is a brilliant clash of styles and genres that all gel into a hellacious post-punk molotov cocktail of sound. Unmistakably influential, they’re one of the earliest pioneers of grunge and noise rock.
Over 35 years later and they haven’t skipped a beat, and FREAKSCENE - THE STORY OF DINOSAUR JR. is just that … the story of Dinosaur Jr. It rules and is very worth checking out.
Our buddy Aaron James Draplin knows a thing or two about the band, so when it came to figuring out who would make a rad poster … well, the choice was easy. Draplin, of the Draplin Design Company, has created a beautiful tribute to this iconic band out of Amherst, MA, and we’re proud to pop up at the screening this weekend in Brooklyn with the poster in tow.
