We're excited to announce our next gallery show "THE GOON 20th Anniversary” featuring original artwork on display and for sale from the incredible and Eisner-award winning comic series, THE GOON. The show will take place on Saturday, April 13 from 6 – 9 PM at the Mondo Gallery. We'll also release a new limited-edition screenprinted poster by Eric Powell, the creator of THE GOON.

“If you haven’t heard of THE GOON you’ve been living your life all sorts of wrong.  Eric Powell is easily one of the most talented illustrators in the game today and has spent the last 20 years cranking out some the greatest comics around,” says Mondo licensing guru and Powell co-conspirator Tim Wiesch. “Each issue manages to bounce between thrilling to downright heartbreaking all while still being genuinely funny to boot. It’s pretty rare for Eric to leave his rural Tennessee “compound” so please come celebrate this career retrospective with us before the city folks scare him off for good.”

Commenting on the show, Eric Powell said “I’ve been drawing and painting THE GOON for over two decades now, and on this year we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first publication of the book. I wanted to give the fans an opportunity to view some key pieces first hand and I feel like it's time to let go of some of this accumulated work. I’m honored to have the Mondo gallery host this GOON 20th Anniversary art show!”

“THE GOON 20th Anniversary” show is free and open to the public at the Mondo Gallery (4115 Guadalupe Street) from 6 – 9 PM on Saturday, April 13th. The show will be on display for just that night so don’t miss your chance! Eric Powell will also be signing at Austin Books & Comics on Wednesday, April 10th at NOON.
