Hello all! Halloween celebrations are in full swing over here at Mondo HQ and we have a bunch of killer releases/restocks for you this week!
First off, we have a re-stock of the soundtrack to the original 1984 A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET by Charles Bernstein in honor of the 35th Anniversary. Next, from this year's MondoCon we have left over copies of the event editions of Wojciech Golczewski's incredible score to TONIGHT SHE COMES & EVIL DEAD: A NIGHTMARE REIMAGINED. We also have leftovers of EVIL DEAD: A NIGHTMARE REIMAGINED from this years Beyond Fest.
We also have our Mondo exclusive colorway of the soundtrack to MIDSOMMAR from our friends at Milan Records and a bunch of brand new distributed titles from Burning Witches and Cadabra Records too! And as a special treat, we have dug up some long dead and deleted titles that will be added to the site this Wednesday so make sure to look under every gravestone to find a title long considered deceased!

Charles’s Berstein’s score to the 1984 horror-classic A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is not only a classic of the genre but also one of the most memorable scores of the 1980's. A mix of creepy synths, off-kilter nursery rhymes and heavy rhythmic percussion filtered with just enough distortion to offer up a real sense of dread.
We are thrilled to be releasing Wes Craven’s original NIGHTMARE as a standalone release (Box Of Souls our 8XLP box set is still available) this score is sure to give you nightmares, just remember whatever you do…don't fall asleep.

One of the most legendary horror scores ever gets recorded and reinvented for 2018. Joe LoDuca went back to the drawing board to fully re-record and expand his original score to THE EVIL DEAD with absolutely terrifying results. This record manages to keep the essence and familiarity of the original score yet feels completely new and exciting due to the addition of all new music combining the classic and the contemporary.

TONIGHT SHE COMES lays an important spine to the pulsating backtrack of Matt Stuertz’s movie. The music manages to stay true to the retro aesthetics of the genre it pays homage to whilst at the same time keeping a synthwave appeal. Golczewski’s distinctive compositional style is omnipresent throughout the forty-three minutes of the album. Dark and organic, the electronic sound of Wojciech Golczewski’s TONIGHT SHE COMES Original Soundtrack has the strength to come alive even outside the pictures. It works horrendously well as a score for your autumn commute through the dusky urban sprawl.

Ari Aster selected British composer Bobby Krlic (also known by his stage name as The Haxan Cloak) to score the film. Best known for his dark instrumentals, Krlic has delivered a masterwork of tense, atmospheric pieces and beautiful orchestral movements. The compositions weave expertly with the looming threats clad in the daylight of Scandinavian countryside.
Milan Records is proud to be releasing Krlic's score on vinyl. The release features Krlic's compositions pressed on a single 180 Gram May Queen Green colored vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket featuring stunning sinister imagery from the film and exclusive illustrations. Fans of MIDSOMMAR will not want to miss this.

Inspired by the short stories of writer Lafcadio Hearn, Alone in the Woods' music on Kwaidan is much like the author's writings, in that the musicians pull inspiration from worldwide sources. The result is something akin to a crucible, wherein the myriad influences of the creators combine, resulting in something brightly new, yet robust with the strength of its elemental parts.

Writer H.P. Lovecraft is best known for his short stories and novellas, which tell of otherworldly, eldritch creatures for whom the denizens of our world are but motes of dust. Composer Fabio Frizzi is best known for his scores to shocking Italian horror films, wherein he uses synthesizers and drums to create disconcerting and beautiful music.
I Notturni Di Yuggoth is therefore a perfect match for writer and musician, wherein Frizzi, who is best known for synthetic means of sound reproduction, scores the poems of an author best known for prose.

In conjunction with Lakeshore Records we are proud to present the Brittany Allen composed score to WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE. WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE is a 2018 Canadian Horror/thriller film written and directed by Colin Minihan. Brittany Allen not only stars in but composes the beautiful and unsettling score. Emotional and dissonant much like the lead characters throughout the twist filled story.
The unsettling truth that even those closest to us can harbour hidden dimensions drives this thrillingly unpredictable, blood-stained fear trip. Electronic duo Oh Baby was created ‘to fill a void in our own record collections, specifically between the letters N and P’. With a sound that depicts ‘factories at dusk, an aversion to sentimentality and an electronic take on the human condition’.
Rick Hornby and Jen Devereux are distant cousins who first met at the funeral of a long lost family member. ‘A funeral usually means the end of a band, but it’s where we decided to start one’.
The band have a twisted take on what dance music can be, citing influences from early 80’s New York underground and German electronic scenes ranging from Grace Jones, A Certain Ratio and Kraftwerk, through John Carpenter soundtracks, to English New Wave bands such as The Police and Fun Boy Three, giving their unique sound a bold twist of live guitars, succinct vocals and potent beats.
The band have just finished writing and recording their first mini-album between London, Manchester and LA, set for release on 23rd August via Burning Witches Records.
Danceable pulsing synths and shimmering guitars come together with vocals that wouldn’t be out of place at peak Fleetwood Mac era. Oh Baby’s debut EP titled “The Art of Sleeping Alone” is here to end the summer on the indie dance floor.
