Hi All! This week we are thrilled to present the latest in our on-going Cinevox/AMS series, BUIO OMEGA, as well as Riz Ortolani's score to the notorious HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK. We are also super happy to welcome Cadabra Records as one of our distributed labels with an exclusive pressing of THE BLACK CAT by Maestro Fabio Frizzi.

As usual, new releases go on sale on Wednesdays at NOON (CT) via mondotees.com.

NEW THIS WEEK

DEATH WALTZ RECORDING CO.
BUIO OMEGA - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP. Music by Goblin. Artwork by Randy Ortiz. Pressed on 180 Gram Translucent Gold vinyl. In-House and Ships Immediately. $30

Joe D’Amato’s 1979 gore-fest BUIO OMEGA (BEYOND THE DARKNESS) concerns a local taxidermist, Frank, and his dead fiancée. Unable to cope with his loss, he of course digs up his deceased love and preserves and stuffs her. This (obviously) doesn’t sit well with his housekeeper, who is secretly in love with Frank. From here on things get even more bizarre and gruesome as Frank tries to find a replacement for his ex to no avail. As bodies pile up (and get broken down in acid baths) the local police get suspicious and it all comes to a head for Frank and his housekeeper. BUIO OMEGA is an absolutely outrageous slice of Italian sleaze and recommended to those only with the strongest of stomachs!

Goblin supplied the score to BUIO OMEGA and they really helped elevate the film. Synthesizers soar and drums rattle and the score is a funk-filled masterpiece far better than the film probably deserves! We are thrilled to bring the full score on vinyl straight from the original masters and we have loaded it with unreleased tracks/takes and stingers from the AMS/Cinevox vaults.

The complete original score including 17 tracks never before pressed to vinyl straight from the vaults of AMS & Cinevox. Pressed on Translucent Gold vinyl and featuring incredible new artwork by Randy Ortiz.

HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
Music by Riz Ortolani. Artwork by Eric Adrian Lee. Pressed on 180 Gram Translucent Blue with Red color-in-color vinyl. In-House and Ships Immediately. $30

Ruggero Deodato’s HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK is obviously inspired by LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (even down to stealing LAST HOUSE-star David Hess). The film is a notorious 1980s Italian Horror movie and was banned in several countries including the UK. It’s vicious and nasty, revelling in its own depravity. The score by Maestro Riz Ortolani is the complete opposite - Side 1 is bright and airy featuring the absolute stone-cold disco classic ‘Do It To Me’ as well as the beautiful melody of ‘Sweetly’ featuring vocals by Diana Corsini. While Side 2 features the wonderful mellow track ‘Love Sequence’ as well as the more ominous ‘Terror Sequence.’ The audio comes direct from the legendary CAM vaults and we are thrilled to bring you this Italian classic for the first time on vinyl.

EDGAR ALLAN POE'S THE BLACK CAT by Fabio Frizzi. Distributed by Cadabra Records. Mondo Exclusive pressed on Natural White and Red Splatter vinyl. In-House and Ships Immediately. $32

The vinyl-savvy ghouls at Spoken Arts label, Cadabra Records, present an intense reading of Edgar Allan Poe's THE BLACK CAT for deluxe vinyl-only release. The classic Poe tale, THE BLACK CAT, is told by stage and screen icon and regular Cadabra reader Anthony D. P. Mann and is the label’s second collaboration with famed composer Fabio Frizzi, preceded by H. P. Lovecraft’s THE PICTURE IN THE HOUSE. The album is rendered with newly commissioned art by Jeremy Hush. Fabio Frizzi was originally set to score Lucio Fulci’s THE BLACK CAT in 1981, but it never happened; this edition also serves as a nod to Lucio Fulci. Frizzi actually stated, “It’s been a while. THE BLACK CAT is back. And with enthusiasm, the magical flow of creativity is again with me!”

PROFONDO ROSSO

Next to SUSPIRIA, PROFONDO ROSSO has to be the jewel in the Goblin crown. Recorded in 1975, the score finds the band at the height of their creativity and features the incredible lineup of Simonetti, Morante, Pignatelli & Martino. We are super proud to not only be re-issuing the full original soundtrack as it originally appeared in 1975 and offer an entire disc of alternate tracks and takes on vinyl for the first time ever. Pressed on 2X 140 Gram Red vinyl. Housed inside a gatefold sleeve with spot metallic ink. Artwork by Randy Ortiz. Expected to Ship in October 2018. $35
