This week, we are excited to continue our collaboration with Cinevox and AMS Records by releasing the definitive edition of Dario Argento's THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE, featuring a score by the late great il maestro, Ennio Morricone. This edition features 20 tracks -- 10 of which are making their long-awaited debut on vinyl. In addition, the art by Luke Insect is printed on a mirrored board sleeve which pops in person!
We'll also be stocking Leos Carax's ANNETTE as part of our distributed titles program. This soundtrack from Sparks is one of our faves of the year so far.

Fanatics of '70s Italian gialli take note...
Behold the veritable smorgasbord of sounds from Ennio Morricone's score to Dario Argento's debut film, THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE (a.k.a. L'uccello dalle piume di Cristallo) [1970]. Considered one of the giallo genre's gold standards, Maestro Morricone's stunning sonic work is a masterful accompaniment to the knife-wielding images on the screen. This colorful, yet dark, score features il maestro's trademark scat vocal harmonies, beautiful melodies, and mandatory sinister themes – perfect music for this wonderfully stylistic Giallo masterpiece.
The first of Argento's "animal trilogy" series, the music on THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE is a lovely mix of string-infused bossa to the tenser, instrumentally sparse passages that Morricone does so well. Just be sure to handle the piumaggio cristallino with care (we suggest wearing your black gloves).

ANNETTE: CANNES EDITION - SELECTIONS FROM THE SOUNDTRACK LP (Milan Records)
Based on an original story and music by Ron and Russel Mael, the brothers behind the flamboyant band SPARKS, ANNETTE began life as an (unreleased) album but was transformed into a musical after they met Carax. The original soundtrack to ANNETTE, with lyrics co-written by SPARKS and Leos Carax and music composed and performed by SPARKS, features vocals from the stars of the film: Adam Driver (Henry), Marion Cotillard (Ann) and Simon Helberg (The Conductor).
Produced by SPARKS and Marius de Vries, music director of LA LA LAND and MOULIN ROUGE!, the Cannes eEdition of the soundtrack album is available as a 15-track LP on Green 180 Gram Vinyl. In addition, the LP is presented in a gatefold sleeve and includes an exclusive poster featuring an alternative illustration supervised by Leos Carax.
