Hey everyone! Our first music release of 2019 is THELMA on Death Waltz Recording Co. If you aren’t familiar, it’s an amazing Norwegian horror film that has a similar mood to LET THE RIGHT ONE IN; it’s unconventional, multi-layered and is just a visually beautiful film. The score by Ola Fløttum is absolutely stunning - beautiful melodic strings meet electronic drones that ebb and flow into really powerful (yet understated) crescendos.
In addition to the new release, this week we'll be re-stocking the soundtrack to A QUIET PLACE by Marco Beltrami.
And finally, we have two amazing Distributed Titles from our friends at Milan Records: THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS by Carter Burwell and WIDOWS by Hans Zimmer (featuring an all new song by Sade).

THELMA is a 2017 supernatural coming-of-age story directed by Joachim Trier that has just been tapped for a big budget studio remake from the team behind I, TONYA. The film centers around Thelma, a shy introvert that leaves her family behind to go and study in the city. She befriends Anja, an outgoing student, and the two have an immediate and intense attraction. To say more would ruin the film as its dark tale of love, loss, and supernatural abilities unfolds. The score by Ola Fløttum is full of starkly beautiful dark strings and mood pieces washed over with the occasional synth drone or texture. It’s absolutely haunting and captivating, and ranks as one of our favorite scores from the last few years. If you were a fan of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN you should immediately seek out THELMA as we are sure you’ll fall in love with it as much as we did.
