TRAUMA is the 1993 film by Dario Argento and one of two films he directed in the USA (the other being TWO EVIL EYES). The film stars Asia Argento and is a typically flamboyant Giallo from Argento featuring his trademark dizzying camerawork and gruesome over-the-top deaths. Maestro Pino Donaggio (CARRIE, DON'T LOOK NOW & BODY DOUBLE) delivers a beautiful, nuanced and lush orchestral score that is absolutely outstanding. We are thrilled to be releasing this score on vinyl for the first time ever with audio taken direct from the Cinevox archives. Click here to listen.

“LA CHIESA” (THE CHURCH) is a 1989 film, directed by Michele Soavi (DELLAMORTE DELLAMORTE) and produced by the master of Italian horror Dario Argento, who also participated in the writing of the story and screenplay. The soundtrack is composed by Keith Emerson and Goblin. Classical, prog rock and electronics sounds are skillfully blended to create a late entry Italian masterpiece. Emerson, in particular, makes extensive use of a church organ, mindful of his work for Dario Argento’s film INFERNO a few years earlier (1980), while Goblin continue on the bombastic electro prog rock they had fine tuned during the last 20 years.

Boasting a cast that includes Miles Teller, William Baldwin, Jena Malone, and John Hawkes, the story follows a Los Angeles police officer (Teller) who, along with the man who shot his colleague, enters a criminal underworld populated with a myriad of wrongdoers, including hit men, Yakuza syndicates, cartel assassins, the Russian mafia, and homicidal teenage gangs.
Cliff Martinez’s partnership with Nicolas Winding Refn has resulted in some incredible work in soundtracking for movies such DRIVE, ONLY GOD FORGIVES and THE NEON DEMON. The pair are teaming up again for this project. Buzzing tones, freaky strings and sawtooth synths will whisk away any feeling of safety.

David Hess composed the soundtrack for THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and his work here contains some truly beautiful songs, the discovery of which, for some, may be in stark contrast to the brutal displays of sadism and violence for which he was known to purvey onscreen. The fact that Hess could perform as both the poet and the monster, is a testament to his skill as an artist. The soundtrack to THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is a brilliantly unique and diverse mixture of farcical comedy, poignant, reflective folk music and instrumental experimentalism. Hess constructed a wonderful counterbalancing entity, which serves only to accentuate the impact of the movie.

Clint Carney (a.k.a. SYSTEM SYN) has created an beautiful eerie soundtrack to the Dread released horror movie DRY BLOOD. Not only did Clint create the haunting piano melodies and unsettling electronic soundscapes that summon the film in a few choice notes but he also wrote, produced and starred in the movie! The soundtrack is as gripping as the scariest visual and it is timelessly evocative.
