Music Weekly: UP - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (+ RATATOUILLE, SOUL, and JOJO RABBIT!)

The Mondo x Death Waltz 10th Anniversary celebration continues with our second week of offerings. This week, we are so excited to build on our Michael Giacchino/Pixar soundtrack series, with an all new vinyl pressing of the soundtrack to Disney/Pixar's UP: an essential soundtrack to have in your vinyl collection. We are honored to celebrate such a monumental film and its score.

But that's not all: we are excited to restock two other Michael Giacchino albums: our pressing of Disney/Pixar's RATATOUILLE, and the soundtrack to JOJO RABBIT from our friends at Hollywood Records. Also, in case you missed it - we released Michael Giacchino's debut solo album TRAVELOGUE VOL. 1, which is still available on our site.

Last but not least, we are so thrilled to carry copies of another Disney/Pixar classic: Jon Batiste's soundtrack to 2020's SOUL.

Mondo, in proud partnership with Walt Disney Records, is pleased to present a restock for the vinyl release of Michael Giacchino's score to Disney/Pixar's RATATOUILLE.

RATATOUILLE was released in 2007 to overwhelming popular and critical acclaim, and even garnered Giacchino his first Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Score. It further cemented Pixar's legacy as a studio committed to the craft of effective and artistic storytelling, and strengthened their reputations as a creative force fearless of emotional music to help guide their stories.

Remastered and pressed on 180 gram Vinyl, it features all new artwork by Nicole Gustafsson and liner notes by Brian Satterwhite. $35

Michael Giacchino and his Nouvelle Modernica Orchestra - TRAVELOGUE VOL. 1

Death Waltz Originals is proud to be the home for Academy Award winning composer Michael Giacchino's debut non-soundtrack album, a masterfully constructed concept album: Travelogue Vol. 1.

The songs have a beautiful, timeless, hazy feeling that transports the listener to their own imagination. Musically, it’s indebted to the easy listening wonders of such legendary musicians as Martin Denny and Lex Baxter (both of whom pioneered the lounge music of the 50's and 60's). While Michael continues the tradition of using driving jazz infused rhythms, he updates this timeless sound with synths, samples and a full string orchestra bringing it into 2020 and making it his own.

His melodies (as always) are incredible, weaving in and out of tracks with a boundless fluidity. The record is so much fun you’ll find yourself listening to it again the minute the needle hits the run-out groove of Side 4.
