VIDEODROME 7"

Composed by Howard Shore. Artwork by Alan Hynes. Pressed on 140G black vinyl edition of 1500. 1 available per person. Expected to ship in November 2020. Ships Worldwide. $12. 

VIDEODROME is one of our favorite David Cronenberg films and the score by Howard Shore is phenomenal. We had initially intended for this 7" to release at Beyond Fest in 2018, where both Cronenberg and Shore were guests of honor. But as you know, the best-laid plans always go south! Fast forward to 2020, and here we are; this 7" is just a taste of the full-length score scheduled for 2021. Re-mastered by Howard Shore and mastered for vinyl by James Plotkin.

When composing VIDEODROME, Howard Shore wrote and arranged music for both a traditional string quartet and a digital sampler. He then played them back concurrently and mixed them in a way that not only blurred both sources but also created an incredibly organic yet robotic score which provides the auditory mirror to Cronenberg's visuals.

Mondo is thrilled to have an exclusive of VFW courtesy of Lakeshore Records. This edition will be the only physical release of Steve Moore's score to the Fangoria action splatter movie VFW by director Joe Begos. Featuring Moore's trademark moody pulsating synths, VFW is another class act from the Zombi mainman featuring shimmering Blade Runner-esque passages with more muscular action beats.

MIDSOMMAR - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK LP (Milan Records)

Composed by Bobby Krlic. Mondo exclusive pressed on Ättestupa splattered vinyl. Edition of 500. Expected to ship in November 2020. Ships Worldwide. $28.

For his second feature, filmmaker Ari Aster selected British composer Bobby Krlic (also known by his stage name as The Haxan Cloak) to score. Best known for his dark instrumentals, Krlic has delivered a masterwork of tense, atmospheric pieces and beautiful orchestral movements. The compositions weave expertly with the looming threats hidden in the daylight of the Scandinavian countryside.

Milan Records is proud to be releasing Krlic's score on vinyl. The release features Krlic's compositions pressed on a single 180 Gram splatter vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket featuring stunning sinister imagery from the film and exclusive illustrations.

UNDER THE SKIN - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK LP (Milan Records)

Based on the novel by Michael Faber, Jonathan Glazer's most recent feature follows the journey of a woman (Scarlett Johansson) of unknown origin combing the highway in search of isolated and/or forsaken men. They are seduced, stripped of their humanity, and never heard from again. The music, which plays a critical role in the film and was uniformly spotlighted in reviews, is by British-born Mica Levi, known by her stage name Micachu. She is classically trained and is best known for her band Micachu & The Shapes, as well as for experimental music in a variety of genres.
