DEATH WALTZ
Wild Beasts - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP. Music Composed by Daniele Patucchi. Featuring original artwork by Luke Insect, and pressed on 180 Gram Grey, Purple & Green Vinyl, housed inside a 425gsm gloss varnish gatefold jacket. 500 units. $30
Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to present WILD BEASTS, a bona fide Italian horror masterpiece; this marks the first time that Daniele Patucchi's score has ever been released on vinyl. Directed by Franco Prosperi (MONDO CANE) and released in 1984, the story sees a batch of PCP leaked into a zoo’s water supply infecting the animals who band together and rise up to destroy their captors. It’s one of the greatest nature-run-amok films ever made, and is in turn thrilling, revolting, scary and hilarious.
Patucchi is one of the most underrated Italian composers for some reason, but we here at Death Waltz want to change that with several releases lined up in 2017/18. His work here undercuts the wild action and is actually quite sombre in tone. Armed with a battery of synthesisers and processed animal effects, he manages to craft a score that is a world away from the usual Italian soundtracks that graced films in this period. Long droning bass tones underpin some sumptuous sax and back-breaking synth drums literally destroy everything in their path. We won’t lie, this score requires patience, but spend time with it and you begin to love it for the chances it takes.
DEATH WALTZ
The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP. Music by Giuliano Sorgini. Original Artwork by Luke Insect Pressed on 180 eye of Guthrie vinyl, housed inside a 42g gloss varnish gatefold jacket. Limited to 600 copies. $30
Death Waltz Recording Company is proud to present a much needed re-press of THE LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER MORGUE featuring updated and expanded artwork by Luke Insect. Jorge Grau directed this classic zombie film in 1974, predating Dario Argento’s SUSPIRIA by three years; you can’t help but think Goblin was inspired by Giuliano Sorgini’s score to MANCHESTER MORGUE when recording the Argento classic. Giuliano Sorgini fills his score with psych driven breaks, lush strings, pulsing electronics and terrifying wailing screams (provided buy the director himself) it’s a truly original score that sounds as fresh today as it did in 1974.

DISTRIBUTED TITLES
STREETS OF RAGE II (Data Discs)
Widely recognized as one of the greatest and most influential game soundtracks of all time, STREETS OF RAGE II remains a towering achievement of the 16bit era. We're excited to distribute Data Discs' release of this masterpiece of FM synthesis, composed by Yuzo Koshiro in 1992 and sounding more relevant today than ever. This second pressing is on Clear vinyl.
MAD MAX TRILOGY (Varèse Sarabande)
For the first time ever, the original MAD MAX trilogy of soundtracks have been combined into a stellar deluxe package designed by Marvel comic artist, Tim Bradstreet (THE PUNISHER, BLADE). The outside three panels consist of all new original artwork, while the inner panels display minis of the original jackets and the tracklisting. The color of the vinyl is Gray, Sand and Black respectively in keeping with the central colors of the new art panels.
THE FLY (Varèse Sarabande)
Thirty years later, David Cronenberg's 1986 sci-fi thriller, THE FLY, is still as impressive today; a powerhouse in acting and makeup effects (the category in which the film earned an Academy Award). The score strangely fits in the category of classic Hollywood horror... which knowing the films Howard Shore and Cronenberg's collaborated on (including past Mondo releases NAKED LUNCH, CRASH and DEAD RINGERS), you'd expect more often. However, Shore's THE FLY is one-of-a-kind in their partnership.
