Hey all! This week we have a brand new Death Waltz Originals title for you: the stunning Equinox by Joel Grind. Taking its cues from 80’s synth scores, Equinox continues our winning synth streak alongside recent releases such as Victims, Pentagram Home Video and Wojciech Golczewski. We also have a new music mix for you this week inspired by the current Synthwave-mania!
As always, all new releases go on sale on Wednesdays at 12PM (CST).
DEATH WALTZ ORIGINALS
Joel Grind - Equinox. One off pressing of 400 units on black and orange split vinyl with white and clear splatter. Artwork by Haunt Love. $20
Brand new from Death Waltz Originals! Joel Grind (sole member of Toxic Holocaust) has taken time out from delivering bone-crunching extreme metal to hot-wire a battery of analog synths for his debut release on Death Waltz Originals.
Alongside Pentagram Home Video and Slasher Film Festival Strategy, this record represents the very best of the new wave of synth artists inspired by a love for cheap horror films of the 80’s and their unique synth soundtracks. The record pulses with chugging, aggressive keyboards and layers of sound which help create a fully immersive listening experience that, although based in the past, has its sights very firmly set in the future.
SYTHTEMBER MONTHLY MIX
This month's music mix is inspired by the current Synthwave-mania sweeping the world thanks to Stranger Things (soundtrack due soon from our friends at Lakeshore Records & Invada). We’ve long been supporters of the so called ‘Synthwave’ scene, releasing record by lots of artists that are currently being name checked as people to watch. With that in mind we have complied an hour long synth-tape for you listening pleasure, including some of our recent releases as well as a bunch of tracks that are forthcoming from us later this year / early 2017. Enjoy!
