New Music Release: CREED Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
News

Hi All - we have an exciting release for you this week: Ludwig Göransson's incredible score to Ryan Coogler's modern classic, Creed. We've been working on this title for a long time to bring you a comprehensive and truly unique version of this score, and we are pleased to present it for the first time on vinyl.

Also available, a distributed title from our friends at Cinewax, a new pressing of Jerry Goldsmith's masterful score for Chinatown, featuring all new artwork by Sterling Hundley and layout by Jay Shaw.

As always, new releases go on sale on Wednesdays at NOON (CST).

MONDO
Creed - Original Motion Picture Score 2XLP. Composer's Cut. Original Score by Ludwig Goransson. Design & Layout by Jay Shaw & Rob Jones. Pressed on 180 Gram Tri-Color Red White & Blue Vinyl (Limited to 1,000 Copies). $35

Mondo is proud to present the Creed soundtrack, available for the first time ever on vinyl. Compiled by Ludwig Göransson himself, this “Composer’s Cut” is the first time the film’s score has been released without dialogue tracks and features four never-before-released bonus tracks.

In the world of Adonis, Bill Conti's iconic Rocky score weighs as heavy as Apollo’s legacy. Without even getting into the soundtracks for the various sequels, the music of Rocky looms large over the franchise's legacy, but Ludwig Göransson's score for Creed goes round for round with the greats, truly standing on its own. It's powerful and emotional without leaning too heavily on nostalgia.

"I’m so excited to finally have my score for Creed on my favorite format. I’m also excited to share this new version with only the instrumental score for the true film score fans," said Creed composer Ludwig Göransson.

DISTRIBUTED TITLES
Chinatown - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Sometimes it doesn’t take very long to create something brilliant. When producer Robert Evans rejected Phillip Lambro’s original score for Chinatown, Jerry Goldsmith was hired to create another...from scratch...in just 10 days.

To say he rose to the challenge is an understatement. Goldsmith, a 20-year veteran of the television and movie industry - with credits including Dr. Kildare, Planet of the Apes, and even The Waltons theme - turned in a work that was both a career peak for him and the savior of Roman Polanski’s masterpiece of neo-noir.

Originally released as a soundtrack in 1974, and long out of print, Cinewax’s reissue is remastered from the original tapes and is presented with brand new artwork by acclaimed illustrator and painter Sterling Hundley with layout by Jay Shaw. Drop the needle and hear why Chinatown is, reportedly, David Lynch’s favorite soundtrack. Goldsmith was right about emotions…
