This week, we are proud to present a limited edition letterpressed edition of the soundtrack to the film NEWS OF THE WORLD.
Available on PVOD beginning this week, this brand new film starring Tom Hanks and directed by Paul Greengrass features an incredible score by Academy Award®-winning composer James Newton Howard. Despite being a period piece, it's an incredibly timely story about finding unity and truth in fractured times.
This first edition pressing of the soundtrack is housed in a letterpressed sleeve, printed by The Press Room in Austin, TX and limited to 500 copies worldwide.
As always, all new releases go on sale here on Wednesdays at Noon CST.
We also wanted to let you know that the Death Waltz Twitter account (@deathwaltzrecs) will be changing to @MondoDeathWaltz, effective immediately. Mondo, in collaboration with Back Lot Music, is proud to present a limited edition vinyl pressing of James Newton Howard's incredible score to Universal Pictures’ powerful new film from acclaimed filmmaker Paul Greengrass, NEWS OF THE WORLD.
The film is a moving exploration of our present through the lens of our past, and the music by eight-time Academy Award® nominee James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games; The Sixth Sense; Signs; The Fugitive) is innovative, emotional and beautiful as it follows Captain Kidd’s journey from regret to redemption. A haunted and healing sound of vintage Americana floods from your speakers as the tender strings and piano guide you over gorgeous landscapes.
In keeping with the aesthetic of the film, Mondo has produced a limited-run presentation for this incredible score, housing the two-disc set in a letterpressed sleeve, printed by a Texan print shop, emulating the style of 19th century newsprint.
