When two men commit "the perfect crime" in a Manhattan penthouse, it pits them against their former prep-school housemaster Rupert Cadell – played by Jimmy Stewart – in a cat-and-mouse game playing out over the course of one wild dinner party.
This is ROPE, Alfred Hitchcock’s wildly experimental 1948 thriller.
Built around ten minute-long, unbroken takes – the length of a film reel – and a singular set, ROPE was one of the first “real-time” productions, preceding and influencing films and television shows like BIRDMAN and 1917.
Released in partnership with our friends at Mad Duck Posters, the brilliant artist duo We Buy Your Kids beautifully sum up the elegant twists and turns of Hitchcock’s 72-year-old cult classic. This is WBYK’s fourth dance with the Master of Suspense, and we hope the music never stops.
We Buy Your Kids’ ROPE is available for purchase tomorrow, August 20th, at 11AM Central at The Drop.
