BLACK PANTHER: New Poster & Enamel Pins!
News

This weekend we get another entry into the long-running (happy 10 years!) Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of BLACK PANTHER. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film features an incredibly stacked talent roster and tells the story of T’Challa, King of the African nation of Wakanda — and its protector, the Black Panther.

We seriously cannot wait to see the film, and to celebrate its monumental release we’re proud to offer a stunning new poster by legendary comic artist Denys Cowan. We have long been HUGE admirers of his work in comics, not to mention his iconic artwork for one of the greatest Hip-Hop records ever: GZA’s 'Liquid Swords.' It was a real pleasure working with him on this poster, which features inks from his longtime collaborator, the great Bill Sienkiewicz, and beautiful colors by Chris Sotomayor. Be sure to get check out the film when it hits theaters this weekend ... and long live the King.

The poster and pins will be available at a random time tomorrow (2/16) on mondotees.com.

"The Black Panther was one of the first comic books I saw as a kid. The character had a profound influence on me and was one of the main reasons why I had to draw comics! It's a great honor and privilege for me to contribute to the cinematic legacy of the Black Panther with this poster!" - Denys Cowan

"Tom Whalen has set a really high bar with his Marvel pins, so I had to make sure to bring my A-game ... and that’s before I even get to the fact that this is probably going to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Working in pins is still a new area for me and one I’m really enjoying. It’s a challenge to try and capture the intricacies of these amazing costumes into a 1” object, but I’m super happy with how it turned out. All I have to do to make the project complete is pop one on my jacket collar and go see the movie now ... " - Matt Taylor
