"Laszlo Cravensworth and Nadja of Antipaxos’ relationship has endured for centuries and will continue to endure for centuries to come. Nadja (and Dolly) sits upon the throne as a leader of the Vampiric Council with her loyal Lazlo by her side (cursed witch-skin hat in hand). We are so honored to celebrate their eternal rule over humanity with the horror-portrait mastery of Rob Laskey behind the brush."
-Josh Manderville, Senior Art Director
"I love monsters, so when I was contacted by Mondo to do a poster for FX’s WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, a show about some of the funniest monsters out there, I was more than thrilled! The biggest challenge was having to choose only a couple of the vampires and humorous elements to put into the painting. Laszlo’s witches’ hat was suggested by Josh Manderville [Mondo Art Director] , and I thought it would be fun to include Nadja’s doll of herself. I wanted to capture Laszlo’s pompous nature, so I chose to have him posing in a manner reminiscent of those classical self-aggrandizing military portraits. For Nadja, with her haughty personality, I figured she would most definitely want to be portrayed seated on her throne at The Vampiric Council. Moody greens and blues make for an eerie atmosphere; and the subjects being vampires, well, it seemed fitting that there be some accents of red."
