“I really enjoy feeding into my own morbid curiosity to question everything. This is precisely why I am drawn to the movies that compel the viewer to question the themes being explored. THE LOBSTER does just that, and getting to create a poster for it was an honor. The film tells a bizarre story in which single adults are taken to The Hotel and given 45 days to find a compatible partner. If they fail to find someone, they are turned into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods. Many individuals, like our main character David, risk everything to escape into The Woods and live free amongst other runaway loners. However, it quickly becomes evident that even these outsiders have their own set of arbitrary rules.
"Everything is presented in extremes. Characters are either in a relationship or alone and miserable. They are compliant or they are brutalized. It deals with themes of human relationships, emotions, love, loneliness and everything that we as humans are willing to do to escape that loneliness. With this poster, I wanted to feature the two main characters, played wonderfully by Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, and focus on the juxtaposition of the worlds each seem to be stuck in." - Boris Pelcer
