"Anyone who follows my work knows that I love any assignment that allows me to explore the aesthetics of the past. In that sense, this film was a perfect fit for me. However, I didn't want it to feel old-fashioned or nostalgic. My aim was to capture the actors' likeness while avoiding excessive realism, in order to convey a sense of dynamism and the fun, excitement and silliness of the film."
