This week, we continue our unofficial Valentine's Day series with the premiere North American vinyl release of the soundtrack to Wong Kar Wai's IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE. This soundtrack is a holy grail for us here in the soundtrack department — one that we've been trying to reissue in the nearly ten years since our inception. Now, we are beyond proud to finally be the home to this absolutely essential piece of film music.
And that's not all. Due to popular demand, we have restocked Clint Mansell, Kronos Quartet, and Mogwai's brilliant collaboration on the soundtrack to THE FOUNTAIN, in a brand new pressing from Gotta Groove Records on an all-new limited colorway. This will be the final pressing of this classic soundtrack so make sure you don't miss out. Lastly, we've re-pressed the soundtrack to 2020's EMMA, restocked GREASE 2 from our friends at Rusted Wave, and will begin carrying SWALLOW from our friends at Ship To Shore PhonoCo.

Mondo, in partnership with Jet Tone Films, is proud to present the premiere North American vinyl release of the soundtrack to Wong Kar Wai's 2000 Masterpiece IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE.
A smoldering lovelorn tale of two strangers who attempt to understand the infidelity of their respective partners in 1960s Hong Kong, IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE is soundtracked by a brilliant compilation of original score by Michael Galasso, Shigeru Umebayashi and period specific songs by Nat King Cole, and various Chinese Opera, and historic Pingtan recordings. In the film, the music is a character itself, representing the gulf of distance between the two delicate protagonists — full of promise, sadness and missed connections.

THE FOUNTAIN - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP
Mondo is proud to present a limited restock of the soundtrack to THE FOUNTAIN. A longtime collaborator with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, Clint Mansell has produced some of the century’s most iconic scores for movies like Aronfsky’s Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Wrestler and Duncan Jones’ Moon. The score for The Fountain is an absolute modern day masterpiece.
The score is the result of a composer firing on all cylinders, collaborating with both the Kronos Quartet and Scottish post rock band Mogwai. It’s assured, mournful, desolate, yet strikingly beautiful, and offers a real warmth and depth that few composers can achieve.
